The Dublin Lions Club was founded in 1953 and has now been serving the local community and state with over 50 years of humanitarian service.
The motto of every Lion is "We Serve". The clubs' major emphasis is placed on helping the local community. However, the Dublin Lions Club also supports state, national, and international projects that aid humanitarian efforts. The founding of the "Lions Club" movement was based on a challenge by Helen Keller to help combat blindness. That challenge still serves as the driving force for all Lions Clubs.
The Mission Statement for all Lions Clubs is:
To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation.
